The LSN Diffusion business is underpinned by a blend of experienced and younger metallurgists and engineers who are experts in the manufacture and application of high alloy atomized powders used in surface engineering, high temperature brazing, additive manufacturing and hot isostatic pressing.

A fully equipped laboratory executes in process and final inspection (QC) of manufactured powders and supports in house and customer R&D projects.
Facilities include inductively coupled plasma and XRF spectrometers, oxygen, nitrogen and sulphur and hardness determinators, mechanical sieves and laser equipment to determine particle size distribution, metallography using optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and thermal spray and plasma transferred arc equipment and access to laser & HVOF services for application testing.
Braze filler metals are also tested in a vacuum furnace against standards and when required evaluated using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) Thermal Analysis.
LSN Diffusion Quality Management System is accredited to ISO 9001 and the company is qualified by major international businesses in the automotive, aerospace, defence equipment, dental and other high-tech sectors.
